Iowa Backyard Summer Wedding

Molly and Evan had the Iowa backyard summer wedding day Molly had always dreamed of. It was sunny, surrounded by all their friends and family, and was able to happen on the family farm Molly grew up on.

These two met by quite the twist of fate. Molly was at the gym, decided to take on a high box jump, and as Evan put it in his vows “had a lapse in athletic ability”. Basically, she biffed it. Evan came over to check on her and from there, their love story began. It took them on a long distance journey with trips between Coe College and University of Wisconsin Platteville and eventually creating their first home together in Madison. This all brought them to this day on their Iowa backyard wedding.

It took a village to bring this dream to life, but I’d say it more than paid off by hosting one of the most inviting, celebratory, love-filled days I’ve been a part of.

Molly and Evan said their vows under the tree planted on her parent’s property in memory of her late uncle. It made truly the most magical setting for an amazing ceremony filled with the love of Jesus, love Molly and Evan have for one another, and the love for all the communities surrounding them. Molly and Evan wrote their owns vows, highlighting what they love about the other and promising to continue to stay themselves while growing together. They focused on the importance of an equal partnership, creating a home that is welcoming to all walks of life, and continuing to be fun, goofy, and loving even when life brings them challenges.

They celebrated their reception with a tent near their pond, delicious dinner, and a donut wall!

I love getting to capture days like this (even if it’s 100 degrees) and am so excited to share this day 💓 If you’re looking for a photographer to tell the story of your day, I’d love to chat with you.
