Do you travel?

Heck yes! I love traveling and do quite a bit of it. I am skilled in finding affordable airfare and accommodation and would love to travel to you or with you for a destination wedding.  I build travel costs into my price so it's one, nice inclusive package and you won't need to worry. Some of my favorite places I've shot are: Banff, Canada, Big Sur, CA, Seattle, WA, Clearwater, FL, San Francisco, CA, Phoenix, AZ, and of course the Midwest has a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to go back to Ireland, Moab, and Italy someday and think it would be a pretty rad place to elope. I am headed to even more epic locations this year - like the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Banff National Park. To view a more detail travel schedule head here.

How did you begin your photography journey?

I've always loved photos. I am incredibly visual person. You can learn so much from a photo - like how much your groom loves you by seeing him gazing at you during the reception, or the special bond with your mom while she buttons up you dress. My husband bought me a Canon Rebel T5 for my 19th birthday and I dabbled around with it, struggling to learn manual. I find it hilarious looking back remembering how I struggled to learn how to properly expose a photo. I fell in love with wedding photography when I was getting married. So much inspiration came from photographer's Instagram feeds and seeing the stories they were privileged to tell. I realized how badly I wanted to be there for people and to tell their story, and here we are! It has allowed me to meet so many kind people and travel to beautiful places. I get to celebrate couple's biggest day with them as my "job". That's pretty freakin' cool!

How would you describe your style?

I want your photos to feel authentic to you and your relationship. I approach your wedding day with a documentary approach. I'm there to help preserve all the details, moments, and embraces that will unfold throughout the day. Everyone wants gorgeous portraits of them and their loved one, so we will make sure we have time for that. There is something magical about a first look where it's just you two (and me in the background!) taking in each other dressed in your wedding attire and realizing this is THE day! I help direct you in a way that feels natural and comfortable to bring out your true personalities. A heavy emphasis is placed on capturing the scenes of your wedding day - those candid moments that take you back to the moment and really make you feel the emotion. The way your mom cries when she sees you in your dress for the first time, the hug at the end of an aisle when the dad lets go of his girl, the ecstatic smiles after you're pronounced married! I want to document all these moments, whether you are having a more conventional wedding day or choosing to elope in the mountains, just the two of you.

What gear do you use?

I'm a Canon girl. I shoot on a Canon 5D Mark IV, and also a Canon 6D. I use my 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm prime lenses primarily. I prefer natural light whenever possible, but I also use Canon speedlite flashes for low light receptions! I like being pretty minimal on my gear focusing on creativity over gear, but I love experimenting with different lenses!

Can you help me plan?

Of course! I strive to be a resource as much as possible for my couples. I want to be friends, not someone you talk to one, twice, three times in your life. I would be happy to help suggest particular vendors or destinations that I have been to and think would be a great spot for your elopement. I have personalized location suggestions, timeline planning, and other tools that are exclusive to my couples.

Do you have an "ideal client"?

Everyone is welcome at my table, truly. However, I think it's important to book a photographer you connect and vibe well with. So with that said, I think we'd be a great fit if, you wanna talk about TV shows, love seeing my pup on my Insta story and singing in the car is one of your favorite past times. Mexican food is your go-to and getting cuddly and laughing in front of the camera sounds like a good time! My ideal client values experiences, relationships, and moments over stuff. Don't worry, you don't have to be a minimalist (Heaven knows I have a shoe addiction). However, when it comes to your wedding or elopement day, you care more about being surrounded by a place or experience that is special to you - where you first met, hiking the mountain where he proposed, your grandparent's backyard, and aren't afraid to get your dress a little dirty to make it to that beautiful valley so you can have a spot all to the two of you to cuddle and take in your day. People who cherish life and don't sweat the small stuff. When the day is over, it won't matter if you had the biggest, best centerpieces. What will matter is how you and those around you felt and having photos that showcase the joy and emotions you shared with one another. I will be there to laugh with you, cheer you on, and cry during your vows. If you consider yourself a bit of a free spirit and more non-traditional, we'd be a great fit!
